Old Flicks, New DVD's
This is actually a pretty big week for some awesome DVD's of some classic movies. Here's a rundown of what Amazon is sending me this week:
- Dazed & Confused: Criterion Edition
Yes, the great Richard Linklater's greatest film gets added to the venerable Criterion Collection. The DVD nerds are wetting themselves with excitement (here and here). That's a heckuva good price at Amazon for a Criterion DVD. - The Searchers: 2-Disc Special Edition
John Wayne's best film gets a long-deserved update from Warner's. Worth the price just to hear the commentary by Peter Bogdanovich. - Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid: 2-Disc Collector's Edition
A good deal of double-dipping going on with this one, but who the hell am I kidding? Like I'm not gonna buy it. One of my all-time favorite flicks.

I traded my perfectly good D&C for the "Flashback Edition" a year or so ago. There were a couple of 70's PSAs, that were cheesy good, but not worth the "upgrade". I'll be setting some kind of sucker record when I get the Criterion edition!
